Hewlett Packard peut envisager d’accorder comprimés comme le TouchPad de webOS exécutent une deuxième chance, une compagnie big-perruque a laissé entendre.

La tablette tactile abandonnée est devenu un des gadgets plus recherchés sur la planète, suite à une vente de feu qui a vu la vente pour aussi peu que £ 89.

Maintenant, comme l’approvisionnement run-out, le chef d’entreprise de systèmes personnels de HP a indiqué que la compagnie n’est peut-être pas prête à se détourner de webOS gadgets tout de suite.

Todd Bradley « tablette informatique est un segment de marché qui est pertinent, absolument », dit Reuters, interrogé sur la compagnie PC affaires filature-off dans sa propre société.

Pendant ce temps, HP ne plan de quitter les propriétaires de la tablette éphémère high and dry.

IFA, the world’s largest consumer electronics and home appliance show, opened its doors for the 51st time on 1 September 2011.

For five hectic days, this annual extravaganza of all things electronic will redefine the consumer electronics landscape for the next 12 months.

IFA 2011 is not just another gadget show. It’s a technology event on an enormous scale. Last year, the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin attracted over 230,000 visitors. And yes, it is open to the public.

Here’s what’s been announced at IFA 2011 so far:

Sony has officially named its two Android tablets – what was once known as the S1 will now be called the Sony Tablet S, while the Sony S2 is now the Sony Tablet P. We will be seeing both slates hit in Wi-Fi form from the end of September 2011 and while UK prices weren’t confirmed, Sony said that the Tablet S will go on sale from $479 and the Tablet P from $599.

Dixons then followed up by opening Tablet S pre-orders and in the process announcing its Sony Tablet S UK price. The official Sony Tablet S UK price starts at £399.99 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model. You can pre-order the 16GB Wi-Fi and 3G version for £499.99, or go for a bit more storage with the Wi-Fi only 32GB model for £499.99.

Sony also unveiled a 6-inch eReader – the Sony Reader Wi-Fi PRS-T1 – which weighs just 168 grams and is 8.9mm thick. The PRS-T1 features a one month battery life, is available in black, white and red and will allow borrowing from local libraries.

In the PC arena, Sony showed off its VAIO L 3D – or Vaio VPCL21S1E/B to give its full name – an all-in-one desktop with a 24-inch Full HD Vaio LED backlight display, and to its notebook collection, it’s added a 15.5″ model to its VAIO S Series. The 15.5-inch screen is Full HD affair, with an optional ‘glasses-free 3D’ panel so you can watch 3D Blu-rays simply by popping it over the screen.

For a more portable and ridiculous-looking 3D experience, Sony has made the Sony HMZ-T1 official. First shown at CES, this wearable personal 3D viewer streams content from your Blu-ray player or PS3, among other devices, STRAIGHT INTO YOUR EYES.

Also unveiled at IFA by Sony was the SMP-N200 Network Media Player, allowing people to turn any television into a connected TV.

Sony refreshed its arc line-up at IFA 2011, with the company announcing the Sony Xperia Arc S.

Samsung treated us to three new cameras at this year’s IFA. The 18x superzoom WB750 compact brings a BSI (Back Side Illuminated) CMOS sensor and, for the first time in a compact, Samsung’s own DSP 3 key component. Next up was the MV800 ‘Multiview’ camera, billed as the world’s first compact to feature a flip-up screen to make it easier to shoot from unusual angles.

Completing the trio is the NX200 compact system camera, featuring a 20.3 megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, 100 millisecond advanced autofocus and HD video recording.

Also from Samsung comes the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, which was outed ahead of the press launch. The tablet features a 7.7″ super AMOLED screen, 5100mAh battery, and is running Android 3.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay on top. The tablet will come in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, and features a 2MP camera on the front and a 3MP snapper on the back. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 was officially unveiled shortly after.

Samsung also unveiled its 1.4GHz dual-core processor-packing, 5.3-inch screened Samsung Galaxy Note. That processor makes the Galaxy Note the world’s most powerful smartphone – and the display specs completely blow the iPhone 4 away.

Samsung revealed its aluminium styled Series 7 Chronos laptop range ahead of the show opening. The Chronos 700Z5A is powered by the Intel Core i7 quad core processor and comes with a 15.6-inch screen, while the slightly lower-spec Chronos 700Z4A has a 15-inch screen and an Intel Huron River Core i5 2467M processor.

Samsung has also announced the PC Series-7 tablet, which can be docked to use as a Windows 7-running desktop PC, complete with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Windows 7 tablets haven’t exactly set the world on fire, but we’d love to see this running Windows 8.

Philips has been busy developing a host of new Full HD 3D TVs with integrated internet, LED display panels and the ability to convert 2D to 3D. So the 9000, 8000 and 7000 TV ranges have all seen an update.

IFA also saw Philips announce a new range of Cinema 21:9 TVs (dubbed Platinum and Gold) to bring smarter and smoother 3D plus the next generation of internet TV.

Also from Philips:

LG announced its new LW980T flagship TV range, combining ‘the latest in 3D technology and SmartTV’. The new range, which will be available in 47- and 55-inch screen sizes, uses LG’s Nano Full LED backlighting for a brighter, clearer picture. At the same time LG also announced its new HX906TX 3D surround sound system, featuring Dolby-certified 360 audio.

Plasma TVs are on LG’s IFA launch list, too, with the PenTouch range of plasma TVs which allow people to draw and sketch straight onto the screen. We thought this was so you could draw moustaches on BBC news readers, but it turns out that using a connection to a PC you can draw and sketch and organise photos using the dedicated pen.

LG has also teamed up with Philips and Sharp on Smart TV apps. The three firms aim to create a standard for connected TV apps by collaborating on a common approach – and they’ve invited others to join.

HTC graced us with a couple of new Windows Phones: The HTC Titan, and our favourite name for a phone ever, the HTC Radar. HTC Titan brings 4.7-inches of Mango while the HTC Radar was given its official debut, with a release date set for October.

Toshiba has revealed that its AT200 tablet (aka the Toshiba Excite) will be just 7.7mm thick when it lands with Honeycomb 3.2. Spec-wise, it carries a 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM to boot. Its high resolution display is a 10.1-incher, with resolution coming in at 1280×800 – the same as the Samsung Galaxy Note we saw earlier.

Toshiba has also bolstered its 3D TV line-up with the launch of the TL Series, which it says brings “exceptional value” Full HD 3D sets. We don’t know how exceptional said value is as Tosh hasn’t announced a price or release date yet. You’ll need to factor in the cost of the active shutter glasses, though, as these are sold separately.

Or how about the UK’s first glasses-free 3D TV? If you can step away from the ‘exceptional value’ end of the TV store, then you might be interested in the Toshiba 55ZL2. The high-end 55-inch ZL2 offers up face tracking, Resolution+, Auto-calibration, 2D to 3D conversion and smart TV features. The 3D is provided by lenticular lenslets, which can apparently offer up nine different viewing positions.

Also from Toshiba:

Lenovo has delivered one of the first Intel Ultrabook implementations. The Lenovo IdeaPad U300s runs various implementations of Intel’s ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) variants of its Core i series processors and features SSD drives. A UK release date is, as yet, unknown but we don’t think it’ll be too long before you see it on UK streets.

Netgear announced three new products designed to help you stream your entertainment around the home. The networking company revealed a smaller powerline networking set, the Powerline Nano Dual-port Set; the Universal Dual Band Wireless Internet Adapter for TV and Blu-Ray; and the Universal Push2TV Wireless PC to TV Adapter, which broadcasts content from a Windows PC screen to HDMI-compatible TV.

Creative unveiled its new Sound Blaster gaming headsets, including the Tactic360 Sigma, Tactic360 ION, Tactic3D Wrath and Tactic3D Omega.

« L’accès à la fois lieux de Toshiba et Android Market permet aux utilisateurs d’accès plus de 250 000 demandes, » ajoute Toshiba.

« Les caméras avant et arrière également fourniraient la combinaison parfaite pour chat vidéo mobile et fixes et vidéo, la photographie de haute qualité. »

Mozilla a montré au large de son navigateur comprimé à venir pour les comprimés Android en nid d’abeille, avec une série de captures d’écran en soulignant son propre nouveau design.

Bien que c’est essentiellement le même que son navigateur Android existant pour smartphone combinés, la mise à jour de Firefox a quelques nouvelles améliorations sympathiques pour les grandes tailles d’écran.

Par exemple, les plus grands écrans signifient que les onglets de Firefox peuvent faire un retour, ayant été caché sur le navigateur de smartphone.

En mode paysage les onglets en permanence apparaîtra sous forme de vignette à gauche de l’écran, tandis que le portrait Range eux loin dans une barre de menu en haut.

Apparence du navigateur a également été conçu pour s’adapter à un nid d’abeille de l’interface utilisateur propre ; Mozilla le décrit comme « langage de design minimaliste » tempéré avec des « éléments visuels familiers ».

Ces éléments comprennent le gros bouton arrière et les formes courbes onglet que vous vous souvenez de ces navigateurs comme Firefox pour Android et Firefox 5.

Mozilla encore n’est pas donner une date de sortie pour Firefox pour les comprimés, mais avec le travail sur le logiciel va évidemment à un rythme, nous allons pari qu’il ne devrait pas être trop long avant elle frappe notre nid d’abeilles.

Toshiba a révélé que son comprimé de AT200 (alias le Toshiba Excite) sera seulement 7,7 mm d’épaisseur quand il atterrit avec 3.2 en nid d’abeille.

Revoyons : l’iPad 2 est 8,8 mm de profondeur. Le Samsung galaxie onglet 10.1 vient à 8,6 mm. Cela signifie que peu vieux Tosh est battu les deux adversaires les gros bonnets à leur propre jeu mince.

Encore, la taille n’est pas tout – la AT200 peut rivaliser sur d’autres fronts ? Son affichage haute résolution est un 10.1-incher, avec une résolution venant 1280 x 800 – de même que la Note de la galaxie Samsung nous l’avons vu plus tôt aujourd’hui.

Le AT200 utilisait un 1,2 GHz processeur avec 1 Go de RAM pour démarrer – pas un mauvais ensemble de spécifications y.

Sa caméra arrière est une affaire de 5MP, mais l’attaquant-revêtement sera beaucoup moins bonne qualité, destinée uniquement à la visiophonie.

L’ardoise viendra avec options de stockage jusqu’à 64 Go, tandis que Toshiba prend en compte vous pouvez presser 8 heures d’action d’une charge de la batterie unique ; Nous allons le voir à ce sujet.

Aucun mot encore sur UK ne release date ou à des prix pour le AT200 de Toshiba – mais stay tuned pour nos mains sur examen de Toshiba AT200.

Sony a lancé officiellement sa nouvelle S Comprimé ici à 2011 de l’IFA.

Le nouvel onglet de 9,4 pouces est propulsé par un processeur Tegra 2 de Nvidia et présente le système d’exploitation Android en nid d’abeille. La version 3.1 qui sera évolutif jusqu’à 3.2.

La date de sortie de Sony comprimé S UK est septembre. Une version de Wi-Fi/3 G de la tablette s a un UK date de novembre 2011 de sortie – ce sera livré avec Android 3.2 de l’off.

Il est clair que le S Comprimé est une implémentation glissantes de nid d’abeille – il y a certains plutôt ONU-Sony points de conception comme nous allons l’expliquer, mais dans l’ensemble c’est est une impressionnante première poignarder à une tablette.

Nous disons non il s’agit d’une échelle-, mais il pourrait être, étant donné que Sony a prix concurrentiel le S Comprimé contre l’iPad 2 à partir de £ 399.

Sony a souhaité parlent de la tablette comme un centre de divertissement, interagir avec votre téléviseur Bravia tout en étant un comprimé certifiés PlayStation. Contenu peut être partagé entre les périphériques (cela peut ou peut ne pas être via DLNA), alors qu’il y a aussi une télécommande universelle intégrée.

Clairement l’intention a été de cacher des ports de mauvais away, mais tout il a servi à faire est de rendre la tablette bon marché.

Autres contrôles externes sont classiquement Sony.

Le front de l’ardoise est intéressant, même si vous seriez dur-poussé à distinguer immédiatement la marque. Il y a la lunette noire familier qu’Apple aime à revendiquer comme sa propre, avec une caméra orienté vers le front.

L’écran lui-même est impressionnant en termes de couleurs, mais il est extrêmement difficile de dire sous les feux de spectacle, vous devrez attendre notre examen complet de la tablette s d’entendre notre jugement sur ce. C’est un affichage TruBlack, conçu pour réduire l’éblouissement.

Le dos est une affaire légèrement riche qui porte sur la conception de la courbe. Notez la caméra arrière. Le carré en bas à droite de la plastique noir est une PlayStation certifié logo.

Nous avons également espionné le comprimé à l’intérieur de ce berceau d’amarrage. C’est un bon quai, mais s’attendent à pouvoir acheter moins chers périphériques de tiers – nous soupçonnons qu’il sera cher.

Sony a fait quelques demanderait à l’interface en nid d’abeille et fourni beaucoup de ses propres applications. Voici les menus favoris et Apps.

Il ne serait pas phare de Samsung – que honneur appartient à la 9 de la série haut de gamme début 2011 – mais portable de série 7 de Samsung certainement fait une impression lors de sa conférence de presse de 2011 IFA plus tôt aujourd’hui, même si sa facturation haut a été volée par le Samsung galaxie onglet 7,7 et la Note de la galaxie.

Trois tailles sont disponibles – 13 pouces, 14 pouces et 15 pouces. Le plus petit modèle est notre favori, mais il est plus lourd que nous avons bien qu’il serait.

Ces ordinateurs portables ne soit super minces, mais ils sont incroyablement amende-la recherche.

 

Il existe trois variantes de l’UK lié 15,6 pouces variant entre £ 799 et 999 £. Le modèle moins cher dans la plage a carte graphique sur les processeurs Intel (HD 3000) tandis que les autres modèles ont graphique dédiée AMD.

Tous utilisent plus tard-gen Core i5 et i7 processeurs (i5-2430M ou i7-2675QM), les nouveaux portables sont conçus pour être portables de pouvoir, bien que sans le toucher featherlight de la série 9. Il y a aussi un énorme 6 ou 8 Go de mémoire selon le modèle ainsi que 750 Go de stockage. Windows 7 Home Premium est le système d’exploitation de choix.

 

L’affichage de 300 nit est belle et brillante, tandis que la batterie longue est également le nom du jeu.

Nous avons particulièrement aimé le clavier qui – nous osent dire que dans le climat actuel – ressemble plutôt à MacBook.

 

Autres touches fines ont également été appliquées ; Il y a un rétroéclairage du clavier, alors que le lecteur de DVD est fente de chargement,

La gamme de la série 7 est livré avec la technologie Express Cache pour accélérer les temps de démarrage ainsi que celui des applications qui sont utilisées sur une base régulière.

Microsoft’s been pushing tablet computers for the best part of a decade, so you can imagine how happy the iPad’s success makes them.

But Microsoft doesn’t give up easily, and Windows 8 tablets will emerge. So what’s Steve Ballmer going to be shouting about when he shows them off?

Windows 8 tablets will have a new touch interface

As we saw from the recent Windows 8 preview, Windows 8 tablets will have a marvellous new interface that looks rather like Windows Phone 7.

“Fast, fluid and dynamic, the experience has been transformed while keeping the power, flexibility and connectivity of Windows intact,” says Microsoft’s head of Windows Experience Julie Larson-Green.

“Although the new user interface is designed and optimized for touch, it works equally well with a mouse and keyboard. Our approach means no compromises — you get to use whatever kind of device you prefer, with peripherals you choose, to run the apps you love. This is sure to inspire a new generation of hardware and software development, improving the experience for PC users around the world.”

Microsoft has drip fed sneak peeks at theinterface,unveiling the start menu in a video that also reveals how ISO files will be natively mounted in the new OS.

Windows 8 tablets’ release date

In December 2011, the New York Times wrote that Microsoft would unveil tablets running Windows 8 at CES 2011 in January, which proved to be incorrect.

The NYT credited an unnamed source for the leak, which suggests that Microsoft’s keynote will be enlivened by the arrival of the next generation of Windows, as well as Samsung and Dell tablets. As it turned out, no Windows 8 tablets were shown at the show.

However, the Windows 8 release date may be sooner than you think.

Speculation is rife that a Windows 8 beta will surface at Build, a developer conference being held by Microsoft in September.

That means Windows 8 tablets could be out by early 2012 – after CES 2012.

According to Bloomberg there will be no Windows for tablets until 2012. As we reported on 4 March 2011, sources told Bloomberg that a tablet-friendly version of Windows will be tested at the end of this year and not released until the summer of 2012.

Microsoft may launch its own Windows 8 tablet

New rumours suggest that Microsoft is working on an own-brand tablet to launch running Windows 8. The speculation comes from Taipei, with sources claiming that the tablet will make use of a Texas Instruments chip and will launch by the end of 2012.

Digitimes, which first published the rumour, claims its sources say that Microsoft is also looking to launch a tablet brand, as it did in gaming with the Xbox.

Engadget posted on 8 July 2011 that Dell is to follow up the Streak line with a Peju tablet that will run Windows – possibly in late 2011 – so no Windows 8 initially.

Windows 8 tablets manufacturers

It’s no surprise to see the names Dell and Samsung in the NYT piece: both firms have close relationships with Microsoft, although it’s interesting to see Microsoft getting groovy with an Android tablet manufacturer. We’d expect to see something like the leaked “Lap PC” from HP too.

On 9 May 2011, we reported on a rumour of a forthcoming Nokia Windows 8 tablet. The info comes from phone commentator Eldar Murtazin, who wrote on the Mobile Review forum that Nokia will launch a tablet in 2012, possibly pushed back to 2013.

Motorola says it is “completely open to Windows as a platform” according to Cnet. During an earnings call in mid August, Nvidia’s Jen-Hsun Huang also said: I’m very bullish about Windows 8,” said Jen-Hsun, “I think it’s going to be an amazing operating system. Windows 8 tablets and Windows 8 clam shells that Tegra is going into, I hope will translate into real growth for our company in the second half of next year.”

“We’re not leading the charge on Windows 8, but as we become comfortable that [Windows 8] is a viable ecosystem [and] that the quality of innovation and quality of services and quality of capabilities [are] being delivered there, we will certainly be open to that,” he said in response to a question.

It seems attendees to Microsoft’s Build conference in September might well be very lucky indeed – rumours abound that they will be presented with Windows 8 running on a quad-core tablet to test.

Windows 8 tablets will probably look like iPads

While Dell makes some unusually shaped tablets already, the Samsung tablet is “similar in size and shape to the Apple iPad, although it is not as thin.” Unlike the iPad, “it also includes a unique and slick keyboard that slides out from below for easy typing.”

Windows 8 tablets will be designed for business use

“The company believes there is a huge market for business people who want to enjoy a slate for reading newspapers and magazines and then work on Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint while doing work,” the NYT says, quoting the inevitable “person familiar with the company’s tablet plans”.

Windows 8 tablets will have apps and an app store

Apps are a big part of Windows 8, with Microsoft convinced that “app development will move to the web” and building a Windows Store with manufacturer-specific entrances. Again, we saw a lot more detail on this from the Windows 8 preview.

There have also been some leaked Windows 8 tablet apps.

Windows 8 tablet specifications aren’t strange or startling

We’d expect Windows 8 tablets to have similar specifications to other iPad rivals such as the Galaxy Tab or BlackBerry Playbook, essentially netbooks in a different form factor: a gigahertz processor, a gigabyte of RAM, 802.11b/g/n wireless and multitouch capacitive displays. Expect lots of connectivity too, with USB ports a key selling point.

Windows 8 tablets will run on ARM, Intel and AMD chips

On 18 May 2011, Intel confirmed that there will be separate editions of Windows 8 that run on ARM processors as well as standard x86 processors from Intel and AMD – all companies involved are serious about tablets, though ARM has stolen a lead; all major tablets on the market are ARM-based.

The x86 versions of Windows 8 will feature a Windows 7 compatibility mode, while ARM versions won’t.

Windows 8 tablet prices should be similar to Android ones

Windows 8 tablets will be up against iPads, Android tablets and Chrome OS netbooks, so if they’re not priced very aggressively they’re going to be a tough sell.
